As an educator teaching during COVID, we decided this would be a perfect purchase for our family of five to allow for outdoor self care through isolation. We bought the $16,000 version of Northern Lights Cedar Hot Tubs. We spent $6,000 on a carpenter to build the hot tub and an electrician to complete all wiring. The hot tub worked well for approximately one year. It has been leaking for the last three years. We consistently lose about six inches of water daily. Northern Lights has no way of servicing our hot tub in Minnesota. We have been on the phone countless times with the company for support. We have emailed back and forth multiple times and have been asked to send video's and pictures of our hot tub. We have asked multiple times if there would be someone in the area that could service our hot tub. There were no options in that regard. The leaks are happening in multiple places. We have spent hundreds of additional dollars on servicing the tub with plumbers and it still is not working correctly. The website claims the tub comes in "easy to assemble pieces". This simply is false advertising. We have many regrets about our purchase. It was far from easy to assemble and there is no hands-on service. I bought my first one off Marco in Belgium in 2007 which is installed at Chatel Le Tadorne in Châtel in the French Alps which we run as a ski chatel. Marco was brilliant in helping with the specification supply and was on hand for any queries I had during the installation. He has supported us ever since when we needed a new control unit and pump. Operational since 2008 so now 16 years old it is only just nearing the end of it life as some of the tops of the stays are becoming a little 'worn' which considering the conditions sometimes down to -20 and up to +35 in the summer. I know others with 'plastic' tubs who are having to replace every 5 to 8 years .. so if looked after they really do last !
